The Carnivorous Genomes (current)

The sequencing of pitcher plant genomes has the potential to impact various fields of research, including carnivory evolution, host-microbiome interactions, conservation and biodiversity, synthetic biology and biotech, and pharmaceutical compounds.

The Forgotten Genome of Acetabularia (current)

Using the single-celled alga Acetabularia as a microbiological model, Joachim Hämmerling (1901–1980) proved that the genetic material in a eukaryotic cell is stored within the nucleus.
